The B.C. flag has bothered us ever since we arrived here seven years ago: if it must have a Union Jack on it, isn’t it obvious that it should be used to form the symbol of the setting sun? This B.C. Day, we finally got around to showing what we mean.

VectorWorks Architect courses, 2009-2010

1090709-VectorWorks
Our Friday-afternoon courses on VectorWorks Architect continue this autumn and the first half of 2010. Now based on v. 2009, the introductory course has been extended to eight sessions and will run from September (watch the RRU Continuing Studies site for updates). In addition – for the benefit of veteran VectorWorks users who have been using it for years and feel that the full introductory course is mostly irrelevant to their needs – we are launching a "buffet-style" choice of single-session workshops on specific aspects of the application at $75 each. Final call for VectorWorks Architect course, Apr 2009

The next scheduled course on VectorWorks Architect: What Every User Should Know at Royal Roads University is scheduled to begin April 24th, 2009.
Based on VectorWorks 2008 (with allusions to v2009), the course will show you how to make proper and efficient use of the software’s design tools in the context of a three-storey townhouse, from conceptual design through creating construction drawings and renderings, at scales ranging from keyplan down to detail.
The course is beneficial both to beginners and to established users who haven’t had time to learn the software thoroughly and feel they could benefit from a good grounding. Detailed and illustrated online reference notes will allow everyone to progress at their own speed, during lessons and at home.
Fridays, April 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5, 2009 (Course code: PAPS1690)
Times: 1pm – 5 pm
Cost: $450 + GST
Register online through RRU Continuing Studies Dep’t.

”Layritz Little League plays Baseball and Softball out of Layritz Park in beautiful Victoria, BC.
“Little League Baseball is a non-profit organization providing an opportunity for children and teens to participate in organized baseball and fastpitch. The focus of the program is skill development, fair play and having fun. Through the sports program and team play, the players develop the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being. The Little League program is designed to develop superior citizens, who have learned the value of commitment and loyalty. Developing high performing ball players is a welcome by-product, not the primary goal of the program.”
We’ve never sponsored a sports team before, but Layritz Little League is a worthy cause. Go, Qualum Rookie Minors!
